bed story #30, Jo

16. November 2016

I had the privilege to photograph another amazing woman. Jo is a speaker, motivator and coach. She is a confident woman and an incredibly positive person. It wasn’t always like that. There were some difficult times in her life but it didn’t break her, just made her stronger. Jo made lemonade out of lemons. Now she is helping others to create Confident, Authentic & Healthy Success.

Here is how Jo described her boudoir experience:

„The following morning of the shoot I was feeling my best, Marina had arrived and we spent some time discussing what the day was going to hold including the kind of hair and makeup I wanted to create. It took a little over an hour to achieve this, but the time was saturated with many laughs and great conversation about careers, motherhood, and body self-esteem, at this point I was feeling extremely special, it had been quite some time that I had devoted time like this to myself.

…This is one experience I would recommend all women to do, for themselves, a process of forced stopping to get back in touch with their feminine selves, to feel empowered and confident within their own skin.“ – Jo

You can read more about Jo’s boudoir session and her thought on confidence, body image and self care in her blog post.

Excuse #7 of The Top 7 EXCUSES for not doing boudoir shoot:
“It’s too expensive“
How much do you spend on silly things you don’t actually need? How much do you spend on stuff that won’t last forever? How much is your self-esteem worth? Think of it as an investment in your self-confidence. Put aside a little bit every month and truly treat yourself just this once. I hear a lot of moms feeling guilty for spending time and money on themselves instead of their kids. However, it’s important for kids to have a mom that is comfortable in her own skin and loves and accepts her body.

Excuse #6 of The Top 7 EXCUSES for not doing boudoir shoot:
“I’m not a lingerie person”
Who said you need lingerie? A boudoir session is about more than lingerie, the best outfits are those that are true to your identity. If lingerie isn’t your thing – let’s figure out what your version of “sexy” is. Whatever it is that shows your personality works! And remember, this can also be a great opportunity to go shopping and get something new
Here is a small list of what you can wear:
Matching bra and panties
Button-up shirt
White tank top with undies
Oversized sweater
Silky robe
Lacey top
Sheer scarf
Or just a bed sheet…
We are done with that one too. Contact me and let’s together create your boudoir experience.

Excuse #4 of The Top 7 EXCUSES for not doing boudoir shoot:
“I don’t have a partner to give the photos to”
Who says you have to do this for someone else? Boudoir is for YOU. Boudoir is about empowering you to be the woman you are! It has nothing to do with a man. Do a boudoir session for yourself to gain confidence, pride and a realization that you are beautiful.

This excuse doesn’t work either. Contact me and let’s together create your boudoir experience.

Excuse #3 from The Top 7 EXCUSES for not doing boudoir shoot.
“I’m too old to have boudoir photos taken”
The more years you’ve lived, the more you have to celebrate! I have photographed women of all ages, and my oldest client so far was 74 at the time of her boudoir shoot. You may not be that same girl as you were in your 20’s but now you’re even better…you’re a woman. A strong, beautiful, independent woman. You deserve to feel special, appreciated and beautiful.
I don’t accept this excuse. Contact me and let’s together create your boudoir experience.

Excuse #2 from the Top 7 Excuses for not doing a boudoir shoot.
“I’m not photogenic”
Every woman is beautiful and it just takes the right photographer to pull that beauty out and transfer it to a photograph. I will coach and direct you, so you will know exactly what to do and how to do it. Over the years I have learned tips and tricks to convey emotion and connection through the camera to create candid portraits. All you will have to do is trust.

2. November 2016

I understand that for most women a boudoir shoot is an experience outside of their comfort zone and that are probably the reason they tell themselves why they “can’t” do a boudoir session. Here is the excuse # 1 from the top 7 EXCUSES .

Excuse #1 “I need to loose weight first”

Boudoir photography is about body acceptance and celebrating who you are, as you are. You don’t need to loose weight to look good in your photographs. Everyone has an asset about themselves that they love in the moment.  Choose to showcase that asset whether it be your face, legs, boobs, butt or whatever! Aside from that, there are also a number of solutions: outfits that flatter your figure,  the poses, the angles I shoot from and great natural light.

My job is to make you comfortable so I can capture your genuine laugh, the sparkle in your eyes, and all the other quirks that make you “YOU”. Treat yourself with love and kindness.

This excuse doesn’t work any more. Contact me and let’s together create your boudoir experience.

I met Jurate and Piene in autumn 2010. Piene was only couple of month old. We were sharing an apartment.  Now we share memories. I believe Jurate is not aware of that, but she taught me something important. The life is more enjoyable if you make yourself a nice home even out of a temporary accommodation (specially if temporary means 5 years)

While I was visiting my family in Germany I went to see my beautiful and clever friend and her arrogant cat in Lithuania. I am glad I did, even I hardly spent 24 hours there. There is something magical about Vilnius, beside my dear friend, that makes me want to return back.

I photographed Jurate and her cat few times in the last 6 years and of course I took some photographs on my last trip. Surprisedly this time my favourite portraits of her are in color.

Bed story #22, Andrea

19. October 2016

Andrea is full of sunshine and happiness. I photographed her several times and she is not just a client any more, she is a friend now. I did few boudoir sessions in Germany in September while visiting my family. One of the photo shoots was with Andrea. Every time I meet her, she amazes me with her positive attitude, especially because I know that she is often in pain caused by rheumatism…This wonderful and strong woman is letting me share her interview and some of her boudoir photographs with you.

1 -What in your life makes you feel  amazing?

Shopping, dancing and having my partner around me make me feel amazing.

2 -What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever done?

Once I saw a very attractive man in club and I was so bold as to do the first move…We will soon celebrate our 7th anniversary…

3 -Share 5 things you like about yourself?

My cheerful and happy nature, my optimism, my humor, my patience, and my body

4 -Tell me a little about yourself.

I was born in Berlin in 1965. My whole family (parents, siblings, nephews…) lives in Berlin. I spend a lot of time with my family, they are very important to me. Every holyday, every birthday is being celebrated with my family and I enjoy it a lot. I have been married, divorced and have a beautiful daughter. In 2010 I realised that it is never to late to meet the man of your dreams and start a new life. We have been together for almost 7 years and I am happy and grateful for every single minute I spend with him.

5 -What in your life are you most grateful for?

My family, my daughter, my partner and my girlfriends

6 -What is your happiest memory?

Holding my newborn daughter Melina in my arms.

7 – If six year old you was here right now, what would you say to her?

Newer loose your smile and your light-heartedness.
